Live And Let Rent are now Accredited!
We are now accredited! The National Landlords Association had an accreditation day at the end of September 2014 in Birmingham. While there we learnt how to set up and manage tenancies using ASTs and licences. We learned about Fire Regs and the Housing Health and Safety System, about the need to have Gas Certificates and PAT tests, about giving our tenants ‘quiet and peaceful enjoyment’ of their homes and about how to manage HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupancy). It was a long day with a lot of legislation and regulations about letting rooms, bedsits, flats and houses. At the end of a jam-packed day we had a test and then had a week to wait….. But it’s now official! We’re accredited!!!
In case you’re unaware, the NLA seeks a fair legal and regulatory environment for both landlords and tenants, and actively lobbies all levels of the government on behalf of its members. For more information please see the National Landlords Association website.
We will help to ensure that our members are aware of their current statutory rights and responsibilities and have a wealth of legal advisors to help us with any issues or queries that may arise.
For your peace of mind, this is an ongoing learning process. We need to stick at it and keep up the learning, keep current and stay accredited. This is really important as things can change and the current legislation is always being revised and updated. But you can rest assured that we are on the road to success – you can now REALLY trust us with your best asset! We are now accredited Landlords!
We’re hoping to become accredited with the Midland Landlord Accreditation Scheme soon as well, so watch this space!
